A low-head Easy Hydro turbine.. in paradise

We are proud to announce the recent commissioning of one of our new low-head axial hydro turbines at the world-famous Giardino di Ninfa monumental gardens in central Italy.

Built upon the ruins of an ancient medieval village, Ninfa has been described as “the most romantic garden in the world”.

Since 1908 it has housed a hydroelectric plant making use of the water from the main lake to generate clean electricity. The original turbine, a Francis made by Voith in 1895, was eventually decommissioned in 2020 after over 110 years of operations on site.

Therefore, Easy Hydro has supplied and commissioned a new 20 kW axial turbine in order to restore power generation at the site in an efficient and future-proof way.

This installation highlights the potential of sustainable, small-scale hydropower—even in environmentally sensitive locations.

Proud of the team and grateful to our partners who made this possible!
